MULTICULTURAL LITERATURE

What do you all think about multicultural literature? Why do you think you have to study this topic? How does culture come into the picture where children's literature is concerned?

How about values? How can children's literature help where moral values are concerned?

well, i think that multicultural lit would be helpful to introduce kids to diff cultures. its relevant in our multicultural Malaysian context too.

i think all kinds of lit will have some element of culture in it, so i suppose that its really hard to get away from that.

as for moral values; teach them good values? like honesty, kindness, etc...in a more fun way than getting nagged by parents & teachers
